Before I begin I would like to share with you something that my father taught me when he was my flight instructor many years ago. When flying into a controlled airspace, where you have to communicate with an air traffic controller, the basic rule of initial communication is to state who you are, where you are, and what you want to accomplish. Since then, I have found that basic rule of an initial communication to be true in many areas. And so, that is also the guide for what I am sharing with you today.
Many of you are already familiar with us. We are an industrial rubber company that was founded by Charlie Cook and Mike Lentz in 1975. From the beginning, our core focus of products has been centered around hoses, belting, fittings, and seals. However, even as broad as that niche can be, it is only the tip of the iceberg. The vastness of related products can vary from tools and equipment to custom molded and machined rubber and plastics. If you really want to get down to it, there is a custom solution in each of our product categories that can be tailored to fit your needs. That brings me to my next and primary point.
Serving our customers. As with many service oriented businesses, that statement is our driving force. For several years now we have had a website that contained information about us, how to contact us, scanned sections of our catalog, and a general idea of the products we carry along with the services we offer. The website was good, but it was very static and didn’t go into the detail about what we can do for you. Don’t even get me started on the design or layout of the site. I was happy at first but the new wore off fast.
So here we are in a new era of our website. I have teamed up with some creative geniuses that helped me create a site that can serve you better than ever before. And this newly redesigned site is built as a foundation that can easily be built upon so that each step of growth can be done seamlessly.
So, for right now I want to share with you some of the changes and benefits you will see in our new website:
1. Outline of the Industries we Serve
Even though it would be very difficult to specifically list all of the niche market we have provided product to, we wanted to give you a 30,000 ft view of the primary markets we serve.
Did you know that Rubber & Specialties provided the white neoprene rubber for the sharks teeth in the movie Jaws 2?
2. Better Product Category Breakdown
We wanted to set this up in 15 general categories that drill down and get more specific as you get into each subcategory. Right now it is still fairly basic, but it is an excellent foundation that we are building upon.
Yes, the website navigation will be easier, but that is not what I’m talking about. When you are on our website while using a mobile device, you can just click on the map, phone number, or email, and it will take you to your local navigation tool, place a call, or send us an email.
4. News Page
This part is probably what I am most excited about. Each week myself, or someone from our team, will write an article on our news page to keep you informed about the latest with Rubber & Specialties. There we will cover many useful tips and how-to’s, the latest products and services, news in the industry, and from time to time we will introduce you to members of our stellar team. Better yet you can subscribe to the newsletter to receive this weekly publication right in your inbox.
I am truly excited about the direction we are taking concerning our service to you in this capacity. However, I can’t tell all our secrets, but I can tell you that as we grow in this respect, this website will be the most comprehensive and interactive website you will experience.
